Business Administration is the process of managing business activities of enterprises or companies. Students of Business Administration are trained to become future managers; therefore, they acquire comprehensive knowledge of the operations of various departments within a company. Graduates of Business Administration have knowledge in areas such as Sales, Marketing, Finance, Accounting, and even Human Resource Management, thereby enabling them to work in various positions across companies in different sectors. However, that is the natural path after graduation. Not to mention the common issue that many students face difficulties in finding employment after graduation. So what has Lac Hong University done to address this challenging issue?
At LHU, you will be trained in entrepreneurial knowledge and skills from your first year as a student. Why wait for employers to recruit you for salaried positions instead of creating opportunities for yourself? As long as you have the passion to generate wealth and become a business owner, Lac Hong University will become a solid foundation for you to realize that dream. Specifically, every year, Lac Hong University organizes 10 completely free start-up training courses for students, sponsored by the International Labour Organization (ILO), and directly administered in Vietnam by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI). The objective of these training courses is to ensure that all majors receive market signals, work according to market signals, and align eating, sleeping, and studying with market needs. Only in this way can students develop a “business mindset” during their studies, thereby generating ideas to implement business ventures.
In addition, every year the University organizes the competition “Start-up with Lac Hong University Students” with the goal of enabling Lac Hong students to compete at the national level in entrepreneurship. Here, students are guided to develop their ideas from a one-page concept into a three-page plan and eventually into a complete project dossier. Throughout this process, students receive training in topics such as: Entrepreneurial Opportunities and Funding Sources, Taxation for Start-ups, Market Analysis, Financial Analysis, Input Resource Analysis, etc., under the guidance of experts in each field. This strategic step-by-step training approach has helped Lac Hong students achieve certain results, such as: Second Prize in the National Start-up Competition in 2017; First Prize and Third Prize in the Southern Start-up Competition in 2017; etc.
Notably, the project “An Binh Seafood Supply Chain” by alumna Mai Thi Duong, originating from First Prize in the University-level Start-up Competition in 2019, continues to operate effectively to this day, becoming a supplier of high-quality and affordable seafood favored by consumers in Dong Nai.
