The Demand for Legal Human Resources in Dong Nai Is Very High

In Dong Nai, a key economic region in the South with 32 industrial parks already in stable operation, more than 1,900 projects have been attracted to date, including nearly 1,400 foreign-invested projects. The Long Thanh International Airport is currently under construction, which will strongly promote trade between domestic and international enterprises in the near future. Therefore, the demand for human resources in the legal sector is very high. According to the Department of Labor – Invalids and Social Affairs of Dong Nai Province, legal professionals are among the top 8 most in-demand occupations in Dong Nai in 2023.

Meanwhile, the demand for legal professionals in Binh Duong and Ba Ria – Vung Tau, which belong to the Southeast Industrial Quadrilateral, is also very high; however, approximately 90% of the workforce in this sector comes from other provinces and cities. This presents an advantage for training legal human resources at LHU to supply personnel to these regions.

The Necessity of the Law Major in University Programs

According to information from the Ministry of Justice, as of the end of 2023, Vietnam had more than 17,317 lawyers and 4,957 judges, handling 567,521 cases, of which 504,618 cases were resolved (achieving a rate of 88.9%, 7.7% higher than the previous year). In addition, the demand for high-quality legal officers in ministries, sectors, and local authorities at all levels in Vietnam continues to increase.

In practice, Vietnam trains approximately 4,000 to 5,000 law graduates each year. However, there remains an overall shortage of human resources compared to societal demand, especially personnel with in-depth legal expertise and foreign language proficiency.

Currently, there are nearly 20 positions that, by regulation, require a law degree, including: Notary, Lawyer, Legal Aid Officer, Judge, Court Clerk, Procurator, Asset Administrator, etc.

The Law Training Process at the University

To train Law graduates with strong political qualities, professional ethics, and good health; with fundamental legal knowledge, practical legal knowledge in Vietnam, and knowledge in politics, economics, society, and culture related to the legal field on the basis of economic knowledge, Lac Hong University has carefully and systematically prepared facilities, curriculum, and academic staff.

The University has designed and developed its training program based on the framework program uniformly issued by the Ministry of Education and Training. The training duration is 3.5 years. The program aims to equip students with the following knowledge and skills:
